Frankie Bluesy Pfeiffer of Blues Magazine & Paris wrote after Tomcat Courtney's Blues tour

Promote and disseminate the album of a bluesman unknown in Europe is always a gamble, and when the gentleman in question has 79 years on the odometer and the title of the album is called 'Downsville Blues', the challenge seems that more 'dare, but this quickly sweep your doorstep all that may still linger misconceptions or doubts because Tomcat Courtney here, he will wrap you with his blues roots very sober, but really efficient album. It is a homecoming of grandpa's blues in his hometown who is behind this album. 'Railroad Avenue'  In the song "Downsville Blues" it prompts you with simple words to follow in the city of his youth while in 'Disaster Blues' you speak of the ravages of Hurricane Katrina and in' Railroad Avenue, he tells you his visit to an old lover now installed along a railway. For he is like that, the Tomcat, a storyteller, and that you build into a song a world in which his guitar walk, a faithful companion. Besides the 12 titles offered, 9 are composed of our young grandpa, complemented by a traditional 'Bottle it up and go', a cover of 'Cryin' Will not Help You, Tampa Red, and 'Meet me in the bottom 'of Mance Lipscomb, Texas Bluesman, son of a slave and unfortunately too unknown.
It Downville Tomcat Courtney grew up in this town where his father, ragtime pianist, had a bar, but in 1971 moved to San Diego Tomcat where it occurs in the clubs several times week-end selling concert CDs that he produces and serious.
For this "Downsville Blues" is a different story because not only it is done by Blue Witch Records, but that Tomcat Courtney is also the writer of this song.
When you listen to these songs you will realize that this album is one of the first great albums of acoustic blues of the early 2009. A great album which he would have been petty or unfair to rated "not consistent with the level of quality and musicality of the album: Essential.
